Matias Ureta
Senior Physiotherapist - MSK
Matias was born in Santiago, Chile but arrived in New Zealand in 1987 where he grew up in Wellington before joining the New Zealand Army in 2002 and finally ending up in Auckland 2009. Matias has been practicing physiotherapy for over 10 years He founded Viva Physiotherapy in 2016 out of a room at The Doctors, Golf Rd where his wife was practicing as a GP. Since then Viva moved and returned to establish itself as a allied health clinic providing a more holistic approach to clients recovery.
Prior to qualifying as a physiotherapist, Matias was a member of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps where he was awarded a special Service medal for his deployment to Banda Aceh post 2004 Boxing day Tsunami.
Chris Browne
Physiotherapist - MSK
Chris was drawn to becoming a physiotherapist from the start. Chris is a person who is all about community, helping others and improving the lives and well-being of those who entrust him with his care and expertise.
Chris became a physiotherapist to support those in his West Auckland community and beyond to help them regain strength, mobility, and freedom from pain and injury. A highlight of Chris's studies is the time he spent in Northland which afforded him a huge variety of practice in hospital and private settings while honing in on his musculoskeletal treatment and rehabilitation. Chris enjoyed spending time learning, growing and expanding his knowledge base reading him to join us here at Viva.
Chris loves the gym, outdoors, social events and the sea. He is eager to explore the passions of his clients and provide individualised treatments encouraging long lasting, life changing results.
Ryan Sabich
Physiotherapist - MSK
Passionate about enhancing the health and well-being of his clients, Ryan is a dedicated physiotherapist with a love for sports and adventure. When he’s not in the clinic, you can find him on the football field or hitting the trails on his dirt bike. As a sports enthusiast, Ryan understands the importance of staying active and overcoming obstacles. Whether you're recovering from an injury or striving to optimise your performance, Ryan is here to provide personalised care using evidence-based practices tailored to your needs, so you can get back to doing the things you love with confidence.
Kohei Oyama
Acupuncturist
Kohei joins us after traveling the world on cruise ships to over 60 countries, sharing his acupuncture skills with so many people he couldn't count them all. Kohei has come to us from Japan and brings with him passion and drive to help his clients to alleviate pain, encourage healing and help maintain overall positive wellbeing. Acupuncture, cupping, massage, moxibustion and so much more on offer when you have a wisdom filled appointment with Kohei.
Amelia Day
Practice Manager/ Receptionist
Amelia is our administrative genius. She is a busy Mum of 2, a teenager and a young lad who keeps her on her toes. She is a fully qualified and registered teacher who decided on a change in career after managing, supervising, mentoring and being a support worker in the world of Early Childhood for many years. Amelia is a member of a local School Board, she sews dance costumes in her spare time, likes to help in the community where possible and most recently has started to learn NZSL. Amelia brings with her a wealth of knowledge, gusto and eagerness to make things welcoming, calm and fun.
You’ll find Amelia behind the desk, happy to help you and she is up for a good conversation if you are.
Nikki
Receptionist
Nikki is our awesome part time receptionist who you'll spot around when Amelia isn't here. Full time studying in Business finds Nikki isn't here too much, but, when she is, she will have a smile to greet you and do her best to help with whatever you need.
Rosebud
Furball
Rosebud is our resident therapy friend. She is very calm, placid and friendly. Rosebud is in the clinic most Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Rosebud will come say hello, might give you a sniff and will happily just be in the reception area awaiting pats if your willing. Rosebud doesn't go into clinic rooms, she doesn't bark and if for any reason you are feeling uncomfortable with her just let us know as she has a bed she will stay in.
Your comfort is important to us so please be sure to let us know if you want a time when Rosebud isn't here.
Rosebud likes treats, pats, scratches, belly rubs, food, toys and more. Rosebud has some cool tricks so ask us and we can help her to share her skills with you.

We are affiliated with ACC, Careway and Southern Cross Healthcare Insurance. Being affiliated means we can make it a little easier for you. How you might ask, here is how:
You can come straight to Physiotherapy and fill in your ACC claim form here.
If allegeable you could be placed onto the Careway Pathway.
If you have Southern Cross insurance for Physiotherapy, we can take the hassle away and do a claim while you are here.
No-Shows & Late Cancellations
We hate to do this but, sadly we must.
We understand somethings happen but, not regularly.
All Late Cancellations (within 18hours) and No-Shows are now being charged as follows:
1st time - no fee.
2nd time - $30-$40 surcharge must be paid.
3rd time - $105-$110 full fee will be charged.
